Doctors say a brain stroke suggest can be recognized through three simple questions:

Ask the person to smile.
Ask the person to spell S SIMPLE SENTENCE (coherent). For example: "It is a sunny day"
Ask him or her to raise both arms up.
If he or she has difficulty with any of these tasks, call an ambulance and describe the symptoms to the dispatcher.

Another simple test is

1. Ask the person take her tongue out of her mouth.
2. If the tongue is 'crooked', if it goes towards one side or the other, this is an indication of a stroke.
