EVIDENCES THAT DANIEL FIGUEROA
DE LA FUENTE WAS KIDNAPED AND TORN TO PIECES IN CHILE, IN
2003, DURING RICARDO LAGOS GOVERNMENT
The
Figueroa's Case was denounced before the Inter American Commission
on Human Rights (IACHR). On January 2012 the IACHR gave to
this Case the reference "Petition P-1849-11" .
The following Legal Proofs of the murder and quartering were
included in the Petition:
1. Indictment documents,
Prosecution Rol 63694-F of 2003, Second Criminal Court of
First Instance, Puente Alto, Santiago, Chile. This is the
Prosecution for the quartering of Figueroa. Documentation
is available at the Court.
2. “Confidential file discloses a
list of payments MOP-U. de Chile”. It informs about
the finding of 19 bones that are supposed to be Figueroa's.
It gives a list of the documents that Figueroa left to "La
Tercera" newspaper to be disclosed in case he was murdered.
This documents, the "Figueroa Papers" allowed the
Judge to prosecute Chilean President Ricardo Lagos and several
ministers and high officers on various corruption cases.(*)
3. “The man who new too much and
panicked” www.terra.cl, May 11, 2003.It informs
that in order to confirm that the bones found were Figueroa's
remains, a blood sample was taken to his 4 years old daugther.
During the proceeding, Figueroas' widow and brother in law
denounced that they were been threatened. (**)

denies that the Accountant (Figueroa) might have been a key

5. "Figueroa's

6. Figueroa's wife is threatened. “Accountant's
(Figueroa)

(Figueroa's)
misteries”,
“El Mercurio”, May 18, 2003. It includes details
on the ADN test of Figueroa's bones made by USA authorities
8. “Justice
look for causes of Accountant's death”, http://diario.elmercurio.com,
May 30, 2003. It states that Figueroa "was in charge,
wrote the cheques, received the list of the persons to whom
he must make the illegal payments, received the faked invoices
needed to cover up the corruption and paid those invoices
following orders from the Minister of Public Works".
9. “MOP-CIADE.
The judge confirms that the rests (bones) were from the Accountant
(Figueroa) of the University of Chile”, “El
